The Solar
El Solar is a shopping center located in Las Cañitas, a neighborhood in Palermo, Buenos Aires, Argentina. It was inaugurated in September 1995 and was built by the prestigious architectural firm Bodas-Miani-Anger, recycling the old carbon dioxide gas factory "Gas Carbo." This recycling project earned it the Maxi Award for Innovative Design and Architecture in May 1997.
In addition to its select clothing, technology, and accessory stores, as well as a complete food court, El Solar offers numerous cultural, recreational, and entertainment activities for the 400,000 people who visit it monthly. According to other sources, in 2005, a total of 7,800,000 people visited the center annually.
